Classes

Classes are held every Sunday afternoon, 2 - 4 PM, from September to May. There are no classes the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or Mother's Day. There is also a spring break. For more detailed information about the current school's calendar, please visit the Schedule section.

The Richmond Chinese School offers the following language classes at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. There are also classes offered for non-native speakers of all ages.

• Hanyu Pinyin
• Mandarin (traditional and simplified Chinese characters)
• Adult conversation
• Chinese culture (Chinese dance and calligraphy)

If you or your child are interested in attending classes at the Richmond Chinese School, you can either:

• Register on the first day of classes, Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the school. Download the registration form, fill it out, and bring it with you.
• Print out the registration form and mail it to Dr. Peter Gur at 1813 Woodland Trail, Farmville, VA 23901 by September 6, 2010. Enclose a check payable to "The Richmond Chinese School". Families with 1 student pay $250 per school year; 2 students pay $230 per student per school year; 3 or more students pay $180 per student per school year.

Each student will also pay $15.00 for a textbook.

If you attend one class and are dissatisfied, the school will provide you a full refund for the amount you paid. There will be no refund after one week.
